I'm enjoying focusing on migrating legacy systems to a more distributed architecture, increasing company-wide code-quality standards, and pushing for reusable CI/CD pipelines. After joining MCG, I planned, designed, and begin execution of a 2-3 year goal allowing release of guideline content on-demand, instead of annually. - Designed reusable unit test pattern, increasing code coverage in legacy applications by nearly 300% - Personally eliminated nearly 600 code smells and vulnerabilities in legacy products - Eliminated 50 hours of annual work by automating weekly import of Medicare guidelines from cms.gov - Moved parts of nightly build systems to a server-less architecture (Azure functions, Queues)I'm currently planning and designing a phased migration for some of our client-facing systems to a more distributed architecture, while eliminating any system-down time. For Business Affairs Technical Services, I worked on consolidating the AngularJS code into directives/templates, allowing reusability across multiple applications and WordPress installations. - Increased customer satisfaction by over 60% by integrating JIRA Service Desk into all existing angular applications - Eliminated nearly 15% of the javascript codebase I advocated for development best practices including - streamlining application publishing with reusable Gulp.js tasks, - adoption of code-style guidelines, - standardization of application deployment, and - branch-per-issue git-flow style workflow. to to create reusable AngularJS directives and services to seamlessly and easily integrate service desk into all existing AngularJS applications. • Refactor existing repeated code into AngularJS directives/templates, allowing reusability across multiple applications and WordPress installations • Work with Business Affairs staff to gather requirements and troubleshoot problems related to web applications and WordPress installations • Develop training documentation for WordPress theme to allow designated Business Affairs clients to manage their WordPress sites while maintaining University of Florida branding • Streamline application publishing using Gulp tasks to be consistent and re-usable throughout all web applications Show less

Office of Museum TechnologyI improved client satisfaction and support turnaround time by nearly 1 day by planning and building a Help Desk Support Ticketing application including features such as time-tracking, analytics, satisfaction surveys, and workflows.I overhauled the annual task of updating the shark attack data, the number one driver of visitors to the museum's public web page. • Eliminated nearly 8 weeks of annual maintenance by automating conversion, transfer, and publication of Shark Attack data - it is now 4 clicks • Completely re-wrote the “Maps & Data” section of the public website, allowing automatic updates when the annual data is published.Increased page load speed by over 400% by re-writing multi-site feed. Florida Area Health Education Center Unchanged until at least 2016, I created a web application managing all data for a state funded anti-tobacco initiative. Data collected by this application allowed the tobacco initiative to be one of the only AHEC programs that received increases in state funding, while most others were drastically cut. This data included: - continuing Education scheduling and accreditation, - curriculum integration with professional schools, - smoking cessation aid dispersal and tracking, and - group cessation course planning and attendance.
