Initially employed as an administrator, my role quickly developed a number of additional responsibilities and as such was made up to Assistant Manager. I was responsible for processing 3500 orders each week from nine local prisons using in-house software in order to create a pick-list for the warehouse. This high volume of data-entry was done both manually and with use of scanner that interpreted handwriting. I also had to attend meetings at the prisons with officers and prisoners to discuss product reviews and liaise with prisons to deal with any order/finance issues that came up. When necessary I assisted in the warehouse to assist in the making of canteen packs and perform relevant checks. I was responsible for ordering stock from the company's preferred suppliers and source alternatives when necessary - this also included ensuring all stock is properly rotated in order to reduce waste. I occasionally drove the company van to deliver the canteen packs to prisons as required and also served individual prisoners within the prisons - either from a central base or from going cell to cell. I worked extensively as a group in this role and required a CRB check as was occasionally in direct contact with prisoners. Show less
