  My responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance department for the campus and the Sacramento-area houses where some of the Sisters live. Maintenance covers basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and project work for all of the systems and equipment on the properties. I also oversee the grounds department and environmental services department. Overall, I manage 15 employees, which involves scheduling, training, tracking certifications, holding regular meetings, and coordinating project work with other departments. I also manage the fleet and vacation house used by the Sisters. Responsibilities for the fleet include buying and selling vehicles, ensuring maintenance is done, and coordinating loaners for Sisters and guests. Managing the vacation house includes overseeing the reservation process, supplies, and cleaning as well as addressing concerns of the guests and communicating maintenance issues. Other responsibilities include preparing budgets and communicating with residents re: campus policies and concerns. Technology issues are now handled remotely; however, when that is not possible, I assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues with the network, computers, printers, and phones. I regularly help users with the time clock system, various applications, and I modify settings in the Shoretel phone system. Show less

  I managed technology projects, including installation of new VoIP phone system and private network. I purchased, set up, and maintained PCs and electronic devices. I maintained LAN and WiFi networks, as well as phone system programming. I configured and implemented a time-keeping system, which included research on California labor laws. I trained users on the time-keeping system, as well as other technology. Planning, researching, and budgeting for new technology/projects were also part of my responsibilities. I assisted the Communications department with projects and distribution lists; purchased and set up cell phones and trained users on their use; worked with vendors to upgrade the door security system and add a new photo badge process for the campus; and assisted users with specialized software programs: one was for the management of the retreat center, the other was for the management of the library. In the communications role, I wrote articles and created newsletters to send electronically; provided content for the local website and updated the website. In the technology role, I provided technical support for sisters and staff; set up and maintained computers and phones; maintained a peer to peer network; provided training sessions, both one-on-one and in groups; and planned for upgrades to computers and applications including research, budgeting, and purchasing.
