In result volunteer team completed 44 shifts for Get Out the Early Vote (GOTEV) and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) successfully elected two Democratic Senators-Built, managed, and trained a volunteer recruitment team a thorough understanding of strategic language (i.e pitch, hard ask, relational ask, personal story)-Trained volunteers to operate Staging Location tasks including: sign-in, confirms, flake chase, health check, following CDC health policies and procedures, turf distribution, and volunteer guidance

-Recruited, trained and managed a team of 26+ Active Volunteers and seven Volunteer Leaders in North Des Moines-Managed volunteer team to complete 300 shifts for Get Out the Early Vote (GOTEV) and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) events in North Des Moines. The volunteer team used VPB Connect, ThruTalk, and OutVote (texting) and completed 150,200 phone calls and text messages resulting in 10,820 vote planning conversations in North Des Moines-Developed thorough understanding of inputting volunteer data into VAN, and then taught regional intern staff and volunteer leadership to utilize VAN in a range of capacities including phonebank creation, event scheduling, and confirmation-Coordinated and lead regular Polk County community meetings which included: drafting run-of-show, creating the slide deck, operating the Zoom room, and maintaining cultural norms to create an open space for discussion while providing volunteer opportunities-As Regional Training Captain created training materials for organizers team of nine full time organizers and seven part time interns, covering topics from Structured Volunteer Asks, VAN 101, and Campaign Updates/Phase Change

GEAR UP Mentoring Coach (Lincoln High School)

-Supervised, trained, and supported AmeriCorp member to advocate for student body resulting in higher student engagement-Provided service for the GEAR UP cohort of 500+ urban high school students. Advised and supported students on post-secondary education planning. Services included FAFSA assistance, financial education, 10 college visits, family support events, scholarship workshops, financial aid workshops, supported group and one-on-one appointments, maintained collaborative efforts with counselors, administrators, and college partners-Organized Los Busca- Meta (Goal Seekers), open forum for college and career readiness for undocumented/DACA recipients, resulting in earning over $100,000 in scholarship money-Managed and budgeted $12,000 Iowa state grant. Allocated money was used to provide college transportation, food, college application waivers, ACT/SAT waivers, and incentives for the Class of2020-Collected, administered student surveys and reported student participant data into SCRIBE. Surveys and data were used for student intentality purposes, and end of year report.
