Greater New York City Area My project is to study the immune response and chronic inflammatory response during atherosclerosis progression using both murine model and human atherosclerotic plaque with a specific focus on NKT cells and CD8 T cells. In order to understand the underlaying mechanism of how NKT cells and CD8 T cells contribute to atherosclerosis, I am setting up a murine model to mirror our findings in human.

Greater New York City Area A postdoctoral research studying vaccine development for Human Rhinoviruses (HRVs). My project is to generate novel monoclonal antibodies against HRVs and characterize the epitope to isolate potential vaccine candidate. I was also involved in studying immune responses, with a special interest in the tissue resident Alveolar Macrophages, elicited by broadly neutralizing and non-neutralizing anti-influenza antibodies.

New Haven My project was to study the impact of aging on influenza infection in murine model. I have throughly characterized both the innate and adaptive immune response against influenza viral infection in young and aged mice. During the characterization, I have documented that 1). aging reduce numbers of alveolar macrophages by lowering the rate of self-renewal; 2). aging impairs the phagocytic functions of alveolar macrophages with or without influenza infection; 3). alveolar macrophages produce more… Show more My project was to study the impact of aging on influenza infection in murine model. In addition to my primary research, I was also involved in serval other aging studying including aging and atherosclerosis and impacts of aging on organ transplantation. Show less
