We focus on building connections, supports and resiliency within the CAF community and the wider community with centres in Shearwater, Halifax, and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. We work collaboratively with Canadian Armed Forces personnel, the Dept. of National Defense, and families themselves to ensure we're meeting the needs of those we serve. As the Intake Coordinator, I am responsible for conducting all intakes for counseling on our Mental Health & Well-Being Team of social workers. I also provide supportive counselling, system navigation and resource referral, crisis intervention, manage caseload distribution, and coordinate some of our social support programs for military families. These include our short-term accommodations, emergency childcare, financial assistance, pilot projects and holiday programs. Additionally, I regularly work collaboratively with other inter-agency teams, collect and manage statistical information, and maintain record keeping within multiple databases. I'm also a founding member of our staff social & wellness committee and am passionate about workplace culture. Show less
