As the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) of a secondary school and 6th form (approximately 900 students) I oversee and action all information that is reported by staff on CPOMS (software system that records and monitors Safeguarding, Well-being and all Pastoral issues), ensuring swift action are taken to safeguard students and put support in place. I provide advise and am the first point of contact for professionals, colleagues and parents in all safeguarding matters. I make referrals, attend Core group meetings that focus on the most vulnerable students, represent school at CP/CIN Conferences, Team around the Family meetings, ensuring that school is working together with other professionals, to ensure that all children are safeguarded at the highest level.

Promoted to school's full time EWO (role was previously done by external agency). I lead on Attendance in an Academy with 900+ secondary and sixth form students, based in South East London. I work closely with students and their families to identify and overcome reasons for non-attendance in school, work with a variety of different outside agencies, as well as Local Authorities, make referrals, prepare reports, issue Penalty Notices for non-attendance. I monitor individual and whole school progress, review data, set targets as well as hold weekly attendance meetings with the Senior Leadership Team. In addition I line manage attendance staff ensuring the department is run efficiently, accurate coding is used, all absences are tracked, carry out regular performance appraisals.Between 2017 -2020 I took on a second school (primary and secondary) which gave me further experience working with students and families from a different area and backgrounds.In 2019 I started overseeing 6th form attendance and provide mentoring/support/training to staff, relating to monitoring attendance and later on also safeguarding
