As a Senior Environmental Management Consultant my role is varied and includes: - Environmental and Health & Safety Audits - Identification and management of risks, independent, standards-based auditing and quality assurance assessments; - Compliance management software - implementation, risk identification and outsourced compliance management; - Environmental monitoring - undertaking stormwater, surface water, and marine sampling. Reviewing and reporting the results. Preparing sampling programmes. - Developing Erosion and Sediment Control Plans; - Environmental education - Training and resource development; - Technical input for Stormwater and Industrial or Trade Activity Consents; - Industrial site environmental management - Troubleshooting and innovative solutions to deal with site discharges; - Environmental Management Plans and Spill Response Plans; - Trade Waste Management - Acquisition of Trade Waste Agreements and development of Trade Waste Management Plans; - Environmental incident management - finding solutions and working with the regulator and stakeholders when things go wrong; and - Health and Safety Documentation - developing Health and Safety Plans, Standard Operating Procedures.

As part of the Auckland Council, Resource Consents, Specialist Input - Stormwater and ITA team I was responsible for undertaking compliance inspections on Stormwater and ITA consents in the southern area (Manukau, Papakura, Franklin regions). My role involved:• Planning, co-ordinating and undertaking compliance inspections on Stormwater and ITA consents. • Undertaking pre and post construction meetings. • Reviewing As-Built Plans, Operation and Maintenance Plans, Stormwater Monitoring Programmes, and Environmental Management Plans. • Assisting with the creation and implementation of the Stormwater and ITA compliance manual. • Undertaking technical reviews of Manager’s Approval applications. • Assisting in the development of the Environmental Management Plan guide, Stormwater Monitoring guide, and Annual Report guide for ITA sites. • Leading the Stormwater Team 2012 compliance review. In March 2014 my role in the team changed to providing technical input on Stormwater Diversion and Discharge and Industrial or Trade Activity resource consent applications under the Auckland Council Regional Plan: Air, Land and Water and the Proposed Auckland Unitary Plan.
