Athletic Trainer in a Physician's Practice
-
Sep 2016 - Present
I currently work with non-surgical sports medicine physician Brett J. Kindle, MD, who specializes in musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnosis, ultrasound guided procedures, and regenerative medicine. Besides performing my typical clinical duties, I am helping to grow our rapidly expanding practice. I have used my community ties to help grow our patient load, cross-trained in both the front and back office to make our practice more efficient, and expanded my clinical skills to better treat our patients. I also work as a liason to help high profile athletes and their agents to coordinate appointments in our office and within our organization. Show less

Athletic Trainer (Sports Medicine Outreach)
-
Aug 2003 - Aug 2016
I was responsible for the sports medicine needs of West Florida High School . I worked as a liaison between student-athletes' families and team physician, Roger Ostrander, MD. Over the years, I developed a strong rapport with this community. I worked hard to foster relationships with coaches, parents, & student-athletes. I also worked to develop students' interest in sports medicine. I created a high school group who helped to deliver first aid to student-athletes. Additionally, I act as a preceptor for the athletic training program at the University of West Florida, guiding students as they prepare for their future profession. I am proud to say several of these former students are now colleagues and co-workers at the Andrews Institute. Show less

Instructor
-
Aug 2003 - Aug 2016
In my 13 years as an instructor at WFHS, I helped to grow two successful career academies, Biomedical Sciences and Sports Medicine. I did so by getting involved in curriculum development at both the local and state levels. I was one of the first instructors in the state of Florida to integrate Biomedical Sciences curriculum. I cooperated with local clinics to provide job training and observation opportunities for high school seniors. I also took on leadership roles with my educational peers. I was elected and served as the department leader at the high school. I was in charge of various committees while at WFHS. On the county level, I was responsible for coordinating several events that involved different health academies as well as the student organization, HOSA. Show less

As a graduate assistant ATC, my primary coverage roles were with men's soccer, women's basketball, both men's and women's tennis and occasionally aided in football coverage. I was also responsible for clinical skills education of the AT students in the undergarduate program. I implemented skills review by filming students and introducing them to mock scenarios.
