Welcome to our new stage of "Rhodius Academy for Double Bass/ Schloss Burg Namedy". Supporting highly networking talented doublebassists from all over the world is the main goal of the two-year cycle double bass academy. Socialising and networking are central concerns of the five-day masterclass. We want to empower the standing of the Double Bass in the international concert business. Under the artistic guidance of Christine Hoock four international double bass soloist and two experienced répétiteurs are invited as docents. In 2017 Catalin Rotary, Alberto Bocini, Dorin Marc and Christine Hoock are coaching as doubleness masters. Piano: Tomoko Takahashi and Mari Kato. From July 26-30 2017 around twenty students will have the opportunity of intense single lessons with each of the four double bass teachers. The process includes specific open classes, public and internal concerts of professors and students. The Academy offers two participation scholarships. Christine Hoock: " The Academy was born with an extra portion of love for the Double Bass. It was a bit like christmas for me when the sponsor explained that they want to support exclusively the Double Bass. So-every 2 years we will have an exclusive 5-day masterclass for 20 selected participants with 4 international double bass soloists and 2 pianists. Besides the intense musical work we will have a lot of opportunities for dialog and connection. Location is the harmonic and history-changed castle Namedy on river Rhein with a real princess living there..."
