I worked as an intern where I was responsible for leading local legislative visits, registering students to vote, mobilizing students to attend Board of Trustees meetings, and advocating for the Los Angeles Community College district. During my time with the union we attended city council meetings, spoke to legislators, and petitioned on behalf of low income students. We advocated for affordable tuition and helped pass the GoPass program which allows community college students to ride the Metro free for 2022. Show less
