In my roles as Senior Lecturer in Psychology, Honours Course Coordinator, and Gold Coast Campus Lead, I conduct research in psychology, supervise honours students with their research, coordinate the honours programme, teach on campus and online, and lead staff involved in the honours programme and at the Gold Coast campus. My research continues to focus on wellbeing and health, with a sociocultural focus. My research has examined the role of savouring in times of stress at the individual- and dyadic-levels as well as the role of self-compassion in meaning in life for people who have experienced intimate partner psychological aggression. My current research is on the role of self-compassion in reducing fear of childbirth and I supervised 6 honours students in 2019 on various projects, all of which have publishable data. These projects include: wellbeing in school teachers; the cultural life script as a meaning framework; and savouring and physical health. Show less
