In 2022, I collaborated with PLL team members, Metro Deaf School (MDS) teachers, and paraprofessionals to design and teach an Intro to Electronics class for 32 Deaf and DeafBlind middle school students at Metro Deaf School. We implemented tactile learning tools, such as Squishy Circuits, Brown Dog Gadget's Paper Circuits, Makey Makey Kits, and Scratch, to emphasize the principle of learning through play. In September 2022, our team had the opportunity to present our work at the Inclusion in Science Learning a New Direction (ISLAND) conference about our work at MDS. In collaboration with the Minnesota Children's Museum, I assisted in collecting qualitative data for our study on bringing joy to the adult visitors of the Museum. In January of 2022, I helped the Museum's staff to package Tinker Kits that were distributed to schools and early learning programs to encourage our neighboring communities to learn through play. During the summer of 2022, I was a part of a team of students who taught visitors about electricity and circuits with Squishy Circuits. Show less
