  Designed original, project-based units and lessons aligned with New York State Common Core Standards. Helped designed target outcomes for the school. Acted as student advisor, responsible for academic coaching and for delivering lessons centered on students’ social-emotional development. Designated Grade Team Leader, responsible for attending weekly meetings with administration to make decisions about school philosophy and protocols and for organizing grade-wide events. As chair of the hiring team, read resumés, coordinated interviews and follow-ups, interviewed potential candidates, observed demo lessons, and called references. Won a Teaching American History grant that provided professional development around the teaching of social studies. Won a $7,500 grant from The Young Women’s Leadership Network to purchase books for my classroom library that would support all reading levels.
