I soon realized that all the documentation, courses and work experience I had been through, were to count for nothing and that this is a position where your proficiency only improves through direct experience. Though life always surprises you, the board has decided to maintain the company size at its current count of three for the long term. Following the promotion of my son from baby, to toddler, infant and now school attendee, I have found myself redundant and only required for evening work, where my storytelling ability is still in relatively high demand. Having traded out our properties, bar one, in the pursuit of a 400-year-old Italian stone house in Tuscany, we now have just one property which is in the hands of our letting agent of choice. The position required me to qualify tenants, run checks around their financial status in order to protect our landlords against risk and to subsequently shortlist the most appropriate to take to the properties to view. Post viewing, I would negotiate the contracts with both parties to the point of conclusion. I successfully acquired a number of 'portfolio landlords', through a high touch communication strategy, demonstrating to them the priority that we placed on their business. Show less
