As a DELVE team member, I conduct computational and literature based research to support DELVE’s pharmaceutical and patient focused applications. My work spans broad topics within cancer biology with an emphasis on intelligent drug combination design, integration of DNA sequencing data, and computational evaluations of the hallmarks of cancer. As a member of the Rabkin Lab in the Brain Tumor Research Center, I analyzed NGS data to identify polymorphisms between the expected sequence and actual sequence of an oncolytic HSV-1 vector as well as identify genetic differences between isolates displaying phenotypic differences. Additionally, I completed an independent research project which culminated in my undergraduate thesis entitled, “Construction and analysis of oncolytic herpes simplex virus type 1 for the treatment of glioblastoma”. As an intern, I compiled information on rare cancers and on drug candidates to support machine learning projects. I also leveraged previously identified synthetic dosage lethality pairs to identify novel therapeutic targets for specific molecularly defined indications.
