DePaul University is one of the largest universities in the US, with about 23K students and 300 programs. In my role as a Research Assistant, I was responsible for gathering accurate and credible information on substances and summarizing findings to support the successful completion of the Green Chemistry research project. Collaborating with the research coordinator, I synthesized a new compound to be used for CO2 reduction. Furthermore, I performed DFT calculations to identify structure, understand properties, and predict behavior. Using data science, I analyzed and developed findings and reports. I also maintained an accurate record of over 500 substances from the lab’s inventory, enabling accessibility of data collected for research work.

My role as a Research Member involved administering data gathering, analytics, and reporting to support the effective execution of science and engineering research projects. To support science and engineering research activities, I gathered X-ray data during beamtime at the Advanced Photon Source synchrotron for compounds created by the coordinating professors. Additionally, I facilitated meaningful analysis of experimental data that empowered the research team to make data-driven decisions and conclusions.
