Bio
Danene Dustin, Experience-Designer Extraordinaire. Utmost attention to detail. Unrivaled service.
Christie is absolutely passionate about the USU Honors Program as she wants desperately for her students to succeed not only while attending school but also within their chosen career paths. She has evolved the Honors Program into a well-oiled machine that runs efficiently while being extremely student friendly. I recommend Christie as an absolute professional who always gets the job done with enthusiasm and class.

Dr. Fox is not only a fabulous colleague but a leader in Honors programs and also in Fellowship advising. Under her leadership, students at Utah State have consistently brought home prestigious awards such as the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship for students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. She is a hands-on director of Honors, willing to make engage in fun activities with students such as "Honors Idol," playing in a mock rock band. She is equally at home meeting with donors and raising funds to support students and programmatic initiatives. Dr. Fox is also an active scholar and teacher, dedicated to innovative approaches to teaching & learning. Furthermore, she is a consummate networker, quickly getting to know students, faculty, and administrators. She set up the Honors leadership council for students, and she also has a faculty advisory board with whom she consults, particularly on assessment of the program. She is terrifically organized and detailed, a good University citizen, and she has a wicked sense of humor to boot.

Utah Scholars was an outreach program designed to increase college access by talking to 8th grade students about the value of a college degree. Volunteers presented in 8th grade classrooms on the importance of post-high school training and the financial incentives to do so. I also worked at state-wide College Completion Director, working directly with the 8 public institutions to improve their retention and success programs. We implemented Complete College Utah, which impacted tuition structure, degree maps/advising, and credit intensity ("Fifteen to Finish") to increase timely completion. • Trained hundreds of corporate volunteers to present to 8th graders. • Solicited new businesses to participate in volunteer speaking program. • More than doubled the reach of student outreach programs across the state, while expanding corporate volunteer program. • Reviewed legislation and advised on higher education strategy. • Secured $1 million in ongoing money from the Utah legislature. • Collaborated with Complete College America, Council on Adult and Experiential Education, International Baccalaureate, & Southern Regional Education Board. • Co-authored successful Bill and Melinda Gates State Systems grant.
