Umanity Inc. is a smart cities technology focused on building and connecting communities, as well as providing tools for resources to be allocated more effectively in times of crisis. Time and time again, natural disasters strike, and coordinated, widespread efforts to help do not exist or fail to meet the demand. My role at this company is to assist in any / all marketing and communication efforts, as well as manage internal processes. I run the social media accounts associated with Umanity, as well as develop communication strategies for pitching and website copy. I am also responsible for understanding and devising basic tax strategies and financial projections. Show less

Elevation Home Improvement is a high end remodeling company in Summit County, Colorado. Founded in 2018, Elevation has grown its project capacity rapidly, and now offers even more extensive remodeling services. I have worked in every aspect of Elevation Home Improvement to really develop my organizational and creative skills. I set up the Yelp Business and Google Business profiles to increase online visibility. Using Wix, I built the website to showcase our work, and drive client bookings. Through both online listings and the website, 10 new clients booked services. Interior design is another aspect I have applied myself. I constructed interior design plans for 2 different full kitchen remodels to translate client visions into functional space. I work closely with the owner to source necessary tools, equipment, parts, and materials for all projects. I've even directly 2 other employees in sanding, priming, and repainting the exterior of a short term rental cabin. Elevation Home Improvement is where I learned to take a hands on approach to business. Show less

PepGen Tec

Co-Founder and Team Lead
-
Apr 2019 - Apr 2020
PepGen Tech uses a patented University of Houston technology to identify, isolate, and destroy non-small cell lung cancer cells. PepGen Tech won Most Innovative Company at the Queen's Entrepreneurship Competition and 2nd place at the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship Internal Business Plan Competition. PepGen Tech was also accepted to the TCU Values and Ventures competition, but was sadly unable to compete due to the coronavirus. What began as a school project quickly became a deep dive into the world of healthcare startups. My team of 4 other students and I had no background in pharmaceuticals, but quickly built a knowledge base to put together a comprehensive, award winning business plan. We discovered and interviewed 17 different experts in the field from University of Houston, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Methodist, and TMCx to find the most effective use case for our tech. I learned to lead a team through KPIs and establishing group culture and expectations. To date, we have raised over $4,000 for our project, and are looking forward to more opportunities. Show less

Sesh Coworking is Houston's FIRST female focused coworking space. The philosophy at Sesh is to create an inviting atmosphere where professionals can show up as their whole selves. No longer just a boss babe OR a mama, but both, at the same time, in the same space. Sesh gives a platform for women to connect to develop professionally, together. I learned what it means to run a brick and mortar business through my internship at Sesh. I did everything from painting sound panels to establishing a digital system for the library using QR codes, Google Forms, and Google Sheets. I also worked on social media posts that highlighted events and amenities of the space to boost membership. I gave tours to all members and guests that stopped by the front desk to show off the Sesh Loft (the Beyonce themed conference room was my favorite!) Show less

WCElectronics is a consumer electronics fulfilled by Amazon company. The first product, a wireless phone charging car mount is currently listed on Amazon. This company taught me a great deal about branding and ecommerce. The brand was designed in partnership with students in the University of Houston Digital Media program. Amazing Selling Machine, Jungle Scout, Hellium 10, Zapier, ManyChat, and Facebook Ads were all used to plan and execute a product launch on Amazon. Use of SEO, keyword tactics, ad placement, and more were all used to generate sales and increase product ranking in Amazon Marketplace. Show less

Founder + CEO
-
Mar 2018 - Nov 2018
Saule Designs is a company devoted to supporting women as they experience rapid change in breast size through pregnancy, autoimmune disease, or mastectomy. Saule Designs was part of Class 6 at the RED Labs Accelerator at University of Houston. RED Labs provided the network to establish a partnership with an industrial designer and the business background necessary to build a business plan. Over 30 customer interviews were conducted with pregnant women, women with autoimmune diseases, and cancer survivors to get enough data to build the brand, a great product, and a comprehensive marketing plan. The summer program culminated with Bayou Startup Showcase, a demo day for all companies involved. At this event, I gave a 4 minute presentation about the company to an audience of over 350 people and generated a product waiting list of 30. Saule Designs and RED Labs lit the spark that became my passion for startups and entrepreneurship. Show less
