  Pagoda is an academic research platform that pairs talented high school students with PhD experts. Our mentors lead our students through our rigorous research bootcamp and ultimately guide them through the completion of a university-level paper. Our mission is to eliminate the gap in academic enrichment programs through our 3+1 scholarship model, where we provide 1 scholarship placement for every 3 students we enrol in the program. In order to ensure our programs have practical career applications, we work with partner organizations to tailor our students' research projects to examining the most pressing problems in areas such as Computer Science, Clean Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Media Literacy and Financial Modelling.

  I decided to launch IvySummit while on a trek through the Himalayas in Nepal. At the time, I was living in Shenzhen, China, working as an Academic Manager for a top education company. Comparing my own experience to what I observed in China, it occurred to me that students and families in the West were not approaching the college application process with the same level of determination or focus. Statistics show that guidance departments throughout North America are severely overburdened. According to Education Week, the average student-to-school-counselor ratio in the United States is 482 to one. Even at top private schools in Canada, there often only a handful of university counsellors charged with guiding hundreds of students. My goal with IvySummit is to deliver truly personalized college guidance and mentorship. We want to give all our students the direction, passion, skills, and confidence to help them reach their peak academic potential.
