  During my impactful nine-year tenure at Walford Anglican School for Girls, I had the privilege of teaching and mentoring students primarily in Trumpet and Trombone, with additional exploration of instruments such as French Horn, Euphonium, and Tuba. As part of the Year 5 band program, I nurtured the talents of young girls, fostering their musical growth and instilling confidence to perform with exceptional skill and musicality. My dedication and commitment led to a remarkable level of student retention, with many of my students progressing through the years and achieving outstanding results in SACE Stage 2 Music. Their accomplishments not only showcased their individual abilities but also contributed to the continued success of Walford's bands. In addition to my role as a brass instructor, I had the honor of conducting the Junior and Intermediate Stage Bands, playing a vital role in their development and achievements. Through focused rehearsals and personalized guidance, these talented young musicians excelled at competitions such as Generations in Jazz and ABODA, furthering their skills and preparing them for the Senior Stage Band. By creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, I facilitated an atmosphere where students could grow both as musicians and as individuals. My teaching approach emphasized technical proficiency, musical expression, and a deep appreciation for the art form. I took pride in empowering young girls to embrace challenges, develop a strong work ethic, and cultivate a lifelong passion for music.
