  As a local reporter, I research, report and write easily understandable news stories for a daily newspaper with a print circulation of 10,000 print subscribers and 8,900 digital subscribers. Coverage areas include: city government, public transportation, environmental issues, public works projects, housing and development, business, healthcare, the COVID-19 pandemic, features and breaking news. My responsibilities include: attending virtual and in-person stakeholder meetings, open houses, city council meetings, and other public gatherings, conducting interviews with local officials and members of the public and producing copy on deadline. I build and maintain relationships with sources including local government officials, community groups, and members of the public through monthly in-person meetings, phone calls and emails. I shoot, edit, and produce original photos and videos using Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro and Wochit. Show less
