• Supervise the 22-member District staff. • Prepare the District’s budget, yearly goals, long-range goals and other items for the Board of Directors. • Prepare each program’s quarterly report. • Provide continuity and coordination between various District programs. • Identify and resolve cross-jurisdictional conflicts, inter-agency policy issues, and federal, state and local rules and regulations in order to effect local natural resource problem-solving. • Prepare grant applications, funding requests, budgets, reimbursement requests and program reports. • Responsible for recruiting and employing staff. • Oversee District staff’s daily activities. • Review and evaluate staff performance. • Develop and delegate District’s goals, actions and responsibilities to appropriate staff. • Resolve any interpersonal and personnel issues. • Ensure that District directors are informed and educated on conservation issues and programs. • Develop meeting agendas, provide background research, and prepare a synopsis of issues to ensure that directors can make informed decisions and policies to guide the district. • Coordinate any and all obligations that the District Board makes in establishing policies, goals and other conservation businesses. • Ensure that the District meets its obligations under any delegation agreements. • Work with agencies and groups to provide sustainable use of natural resources (Natural Resources Conservation Service, Farm Service Agency, Penn State Extension, IPA, NFWF, US Department of Interior, PADEP, State Conservation Commission, PADCNR, County Planning, Water Resources, Health Department, Open Space and Parks, local municipal governments, watershed organizations, etc.).
