I have been implementing improvements on technical and administrative processes and integrating an extended range of pigments for our daily business. A further main part of the job is the technical support to account managers, customers, production and procurement.In the function of Product Development Leader, one milestone was the development and promotion of an antifog-compound for polyester-films.

As Manufacturing Technology Leader I was optimizing processing parameters and improved produceability of our products. I constantly evaluated the machine-development on the market by discussing developments with machine suppliers, visiting trade fairs and evaluating needs with Operation Manager and Sukano Management. For new Extrusion lines, Optimization-trials were attended at machine producers for Extruders, Feeders, Pelletizers etc.As Regulatory Manager I build up a in-dept knowledge on food contact compliance, compostability certification and registration of antimicrobial masterbatches (with the function of preservatives PT9). The regulatory manager evaluates product compliance with all applicable legislative documents and provides declaration of compliance and further compliance statements to customers. In some cases compliance must be proven by external laboratories or experts which has been managed through my person as well.Main part of my job still was the development of masterbatches in the function as a PDL (Product Development Leader). The development includes all steps from evaluating the raw materials and suppliers through internal processes like formulating, lab-trials, application-trials, product scale-up, down to running first trials at customers, providing technical support to account managers and customers.Milestones in that era were the development of matting agents for sheets, films and biaxially oriented PET films and white masterbatches for PET milk bottles. A detailed portfolio for light diffusors, white masterbatches and matting agents was developed. Furthermore, in cooperation with Omya a voiding agent for BOPET was developed and presented at various events. During that time Sukano invested in 4 Extruders for which the specs were defined according to my evaluations.

Product Development Leader / Quality Manager

As Quality Manager in charge for the quality assurance lab and responsible for two lab assistants. The work included the evaluation of analytical instruments for polymer- and additive-analysis, coordination of daily work, recording statistical figures and analyzing process data and defining product specifications for our masterbatches.During that time I set up a new, process-oriented quality management documentation according to ISO 9001:2008.As product development leader I developed masterbatches by evaluating raw materials, creating formulations, conducting lab-scale productions and application trials (in-house and at customers), attending scale-up runs and optimizing processing parameters. Finally, as a PDL I was also responsible for maintaining a product portfolio for specific product segments and was supporting customers on technical questions and complaints.Milestones during that time were the development of slip/antiblock masterbatches for biaxially oriented PET films and biaxially oriented PA6-films as well as a range of masterbatches for the bio-polymer PLA (slip/antiblock, matting agent, release-agent, white masterbatch).

First experience gained on processing and additivation of polymers, mainly PET. Part of the job was formulating masterbatches, lab-production and application-tests (inhouse) for films and injection molded applications. The applications were characterized and products clustered positioned in a portfolio.Milestones were the creation of a slip/antiblock portfolio for PET and presenting this to our sales-team and business-partners. I intensively supported our sales team with technical aspects for extending Sukano's market globally in Asia and USA.
