I was Christian's PhD supervisor. He has demonstrated exceptional aptitude for theoretical and mathematical reasoning and critical thinking, and has a sharp scientific intuition. Christian is extremely intelligent, articulate, resilient, adaptable, patient, and dependable. He excels at managing his project priorities, deadlines and deliverables. He appreciates advice and is constantly looking for opportunities to broaden his skills and knowledge. I looked forward to our meetings which, thanks to him, were efficient and a real joy: he has a genuine and contagious passion for learning and discovery. His resourcefulness and dedication serve him well doing independent work. Yet both trainees and collaborators who worked with him have expressed how much his positive, cheerful and earnest personality make him a pleasure to work with. I have no doubt that Christian will accomplish any goals he sets his mind to. I will definitely miss working with him. Any group/organization he joins will be lucky to have him.
