It will show them that you truly care for not just their growth in the workplace but also as a person. Being able to connect on a human level will really gain the trust of the team that you are leading. A relationship that is built on compassion and trust will be a strong foundation for years to come. Listening to understand is an important quality to posses as a leader because it will show your team that not only are you hearing them but you are also able to provide effective solutions to the problem at hand. Another quality that I personally always thought is extremely important from a great leader is availability. It’s one thing to say you are there for your team but quite another to actually answer when those calls are coming through. Being able to reach out to a leader and actually have them respond in a timely manner to any issues or problems that need resolution is critical to the success of the team and business. A leader able to handle both their workload and also be available to their team is a true gem and rare to come across. Then come coaching and action. Being able to uplift a team and take them to new heights is not an easy feat. With so many different personalities on a team it is always difficult to find a coaching style that speaks to everyone. There will be times when one team member is excelling at certain tasks while others have trouble grasping the techniques or trainings. As a leader you have to be able to coach effectively in a manner where the entire team is able to grasp the techniques and apply them in the field. The second part of coaching is the action part. Follow ups with the team and taking action when there are results as well as when there aren’t. Taking action to provide further coaching or feedback so that the team is always supported, that way no one ever gets left behind. The above sums up just a fraction of Christian’s leadership qualities. Christian has not only performed, but also mastered these while I was working with him. I’ve spent the last two years not only collaborating, coaching, leading and working along side Christian but also personally learning from him. He is one of the most hard working, creative and driven leaders I have worked for. He understands what it takes to lead a team to success and then beyond. If there are things he doesn’t know, it doesn’t take him long to figure those out as he is very adaptable at his craft. Any team that employs Christian Montenegro as leader/Manager will immediately see results in not only metrics but culture and team productivity. Not to mention everyone that I’ve talked to that has interacted with Christian has wished for him to be their leader.
