Project Engineer - CRAFT Project Coordinator

Joined the company as a project engineer/coordinator to manage a European Community research project (CRAFT) to improve fire and emergency services personnel's head protection. Next generation technologies and products were reviewed utilizing customer insight and research. Key elements that were reviewed: integration of breathing protection with the head protection system, eye protection, hearing protection as well as communications. Thermal Imaging was a new emerging technology for the fire service at the time that we looked at in many different ways. I was tasked with seeking out cutting edge technologies. Coordination between participating company's (all small and medium enterprises) and the Research institutes involved. Research resulted in the publication of a findings report that was to the European Community as well as a prototype of the proposed system being displayed at Interschutz in Augsburg, Germany in June 2000.
