As a volunteer with the Helen Tufts program, I worked alongside a team of fellow students from Queen’s University to provide tutoring services to children in the Kingston community. This organization lends its time to kids who come from disenfranchised backgrounds and can benefit most from the one-on-one math, literacy, and social learning opportunities we aimed to provide. We are a multi-disciplinary engineering team that designs, fabricates and races an off-road vehicle alongside 200 worldwide entries. Last year I designed first iteration custom brake calipers for 2018/19 season. We achieved an increased F.O.S. by 0.74, increased axial brake torque by 50%, and decreased weight by 100 g. This year I am tackling a redesign project for the 2019/20 season. Our primary goals are to accommodate a 4 wheel drive system and increase durability of the front suspension system. Show less

Fix N Clean External Relations Coordinator

Fix N Clean is a bi-annual outreach event wherein engineering students spend a weekend in the fall and a weekend in the winter volunteering in the local community. Students assist elderly, differently-abled, and less advantaged people with a variety of indoor and outdoor household tasks that they cannot otherwise complete on their own. During our fall event, thanks to the help of our sponsors, we connected 200 volunteers to 50 homes in the Kingston area.
