At the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), I research the role of communication in polarized climate change debates. Currently, I investigate the boundaries of climate activism by scientists (NWO Veni). In addition, I also teach and supervise theses. During my internship I wrote my Bachelor thesis on how the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) could engage more effectively with its wider audiences. The research involved conducting interviews with leading key experts on climate change communications. Next to my research, I was responsible for other activities concerning Talking Climate. Examples of these include identifying new guest bloggers, twittering, and updating Talking Climate guides with the latest research. See more at http://talkingclimate.org/ Show less

Sep 2012 - Jan 2013
In 2010 The Media Alliance launched the ‘Redraw the Line’ climate change awareness campaign on behalf of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the Asian Development Bank. The campaign was being pilot through both broadcast media and social media channels in the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. In collaboration with the No Impact Project, the University No Impact Week is launched in these countries, which challenges students to live one week carbon cleanse. My tasks included engaging broadcasters to broadcast the RTL public service advertisement; writing press releases; building an online showcase ''The Best Practices of Public Service Advertising''; coordinating University No Impact Week; analyzing Redraw The Line website Additionally, I conducted research on climate conscious behavior of the urbanized youth in Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The research is used to improve the Redraw The Line campaign/University No Impact Week. Show less
