I came to this practice as an internship through a career school. I handled receptionist duties, scheduling, patient check out and file management. The office had just transferred into a larger practice and to electronic scheduling. I loved creating a caring environment for patients (my customer service experience really made a difference). Being a Store Manager at Blockbuster was all about the movie experience. Technology was changing rapidly and people just wanted a good movie to enjoy. Keeping an upbeat team that focused on the customer was key. I handled interviews, onboarding, scheduling, stocking, accounting and financial reporting where my customers were known by name. I still have people come up to talk to me who were customers from this job. Being a Store Manager at Blockbuster was all about the movie experience. Also known as: The Columbus Performing Arts Center. I was a contractual employee with the City of Columbus who owned this downtown performing arts center. As a parks and recreation facility, it was most often used by children and teens but it also rented out to performance groups. My job was to protect the facility and assist the renting groups with lighting, sound, and available stage equipment. As the building is 80+ years old and an odd configuration of two houses and multiple add-ons and renovations, it has its fair share of quirks and a deep history in Columbus theatre. I took pride in keeping it open and available to local theatre groups.I assisted in making sure that conflicts between rentals groups and the in-house children/teen programs were resolved, timelines were communicated, equipment was used safely and appropriately, and that the building was secured.
