I have worked with Chris in his role supporting the Energy & Utility Skills executive Board. Chris has supported us through a huge transformation as a business by providing constructive, insightful and inspirational advice and guidance. This has helped our business and me personally make better informed decisions in building a business that is now fully sustainable and now makes excellence the standard. Chris is passionate about skills in the Energy & Utilities sector and has supported this agenda alongside our business. I have a lot of respect for Chris and his expertise and it has been a pleasure working with him over the last 5 years, he has a huge amount to offer any business, as a strategic advisor or Non Executive Director.

I’ve known of Chris for a number of years, he is someone who I’ve always respected and admired. He has a great work ethic and is incredibly supportive to others through his exemplary leadership qualities and his marathon running fundraising efforts for various charities. During his time at National Grid it came as no surprise that Chris was awarded an MBE for his valued services in supporting and promoting skills in the energy and utility sector and also for his services to charity. As a leader and advocate Chris is passionate about initiating change. This was clearly demonstrated during his time as executive co-sponsor for Pride (LGBT employee resource group). Chris showed an unbelievable passion for people valuing and welcoming everyone’s opinions, taking time to listen and understand individuals regardless of their background; and constantly pushing the boundaries to ensure everyone was treated fairly in the workplace. Chris was well respected and liked at National Grid and he has the ability to communicate with anyone regardless of status. It was a pleasure having the opportunity to work with him.

Meeting rising demand for water requires a more joined up, regional approach to managing our water resources. We are developing a regional resilience plan that will be used as a blueprint for water supply investment by the six water companies across the South East. The ultimate aim of this plan is simple: to provide an affordable, resilient and sustainable water supply that delivers for the public, industry and the natural environment for years to come.
