  While reporting directly to the Vice President, Western Canada Operations, I spearheaded and evolved CAPP’s conventional oil and natural gas communications and engagement programs leading to a demonstrable improvement in trust across communities, as evidenced by public opinion research. • Through the strategic development of first-rate tactics that were well-aligned with corporate objectives, I advanced, implemented and delivered a state-of-the-art, on-the-ground community and stakeholder engagement program across three Western provinces, including direct engagement with elected government officials, municipalities and chambers of commerce. • I developed strategic alliances and fostered relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders across geographic, organizational and social lines to advance collaborative efforts that reaped meaningful financial and public policy benefits for CAPP’s members. • I project managed and directly contributed to the evolution of corporate communications assets including web properties, printed collateral and social media channels to align with corporate objectives and engagement efforts. • I acted as a media-savvy CAPP spokesperson and delivered presentations and speeches in a variety of forums including high-profile regional conferences, municipal council meetings and chamber of commerce events, improving industry’s and CAPP’s corporate image. • I significantly contributed to CAPP’s overall strategic planning process including as it related to government and public relations and specifically led a strategic review of CAPP’s government relations activities in Western Canada leading to improved internal cooperation and better alignment with stakeholders. • I developed annual strategic plans and issue-specific campaigns that identified opportunities for industry to successfully influence public discourse and policy outcomes through changing political and market landscapes. • I prudently managed an annual budget of up to $1.6M.   I served as senior political staff in a whole-of-government, central agency role ensuring the government’s agenda was advanced in a timely manner through the Senate in accordance with Ministers' mandates with a near-perfect success rate. • I successfully navigated the parliamentary, regulatory and political environment of the federal government to achieve positive outcomes on behalf of the government, becoming a go-to expert on the Senate of Canada who has since been published in a nationally recognized policy magazine. • I provided strategic political and communications advice to a senior cabinet minister related to Cabinet, parliamentary, policy, regulatory, issues management and media relations matters. • I used tact and diplomacy to successfully manage relations with parliamentarians and senior decision makers in furtherance of the government’s objectives. • I led the government’s negotiations with the Official Opposition in the Senate resulting in the successful advancement of the government’s agenda and building a reputation as an honest broker who can work across political lines. • I used innovative and strategic thinking and problem-solving skills that led to a change in how the Senate approves legislation to implement the federal budget on an annual basis. • I maintained positive working relationships with national media to advance the public relations goals of the Minister. • I led, motivated and inspired a staff of 8 whose roles were to serve as vital conduits between Ministers' Offices and Senators to help advance the Government's agenda through the committees of the Senate, assist Senators in preparation for committee meetings and provide research, speaking materials, and translation services to the Caucus.
