I had the pleasure of working with Chris during his last two years of high school. I managed a youth employment program at the Berks County CareerLink, that matched local high school students to summer and year-round employment opportunities. During the summer of 2017, Chris participated in our Strategic Innovation Grant which allowed him to work full time for eight weeks. He was placed at The People Academy, which ended up being a perfect match for his skills and expertise. He filmed and edited video content, planned large-scale projects and even got to work one-on-one with clients. When we made students aware that employment could carry through the school year, Chris took it upon himself to arrange his school schedule to allow him to work full time with The People Academy. He completed his senior year classes online and worked 30 hours per week. I have never worked with a student so passionate and committed - it was amazing to watch him balance such a full schedule. He was the only student in the county to take advantage of the opportunity. Chris was able to continue working through the following summer, overseeing a group of high school interns. In total he worked just over a full year with The People Academy. Throughout this time, Chris displayed professionalism beyond his years, and it was truly a pleasure working with him. I worked with hundreds of high school students over the course of three years, and Chris is hands down the most memorable, and will most likely go on to be the most successful.

I’ve had the pleasure of having Chris in my program the past three years. In that time, Chris has demonstrated his creativity, technical ability and his willingness to learn. Chris is a leader and someone who will take on responsibility. Whether it is producing a video, or being a crew member on someone else’s production, he approaches both with the same dedication and enthusiasm. His passion for film and video production coupled with his developing skill set will make him an excellent addition to a post-secondary film program or business seeking a hard worker with a willingness to learn and succeed.

Video Production Intern
-
Nov 2016 - Jun 2018
Due to my skill and motivation, I have been selected to direct and produce videos for Berks Career & Technology Center, as well as some of their partners. These videos are outside of the curriculum, and only given to students who show they can handle such a task. Thus far, I have produced one marketing video for a declining shop, and am working on a second video to promote the Career Pathways Model for schools, in conjunction with the Berks County Intermediate Unit and the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance. In addition to producing and directing, my major responsibilities have included client relations, casting, crewing, editing, and delegating tasks as needed.
