I worked with Chrislene 2 years ago and she was amazing. Her energy and effervescent attitude she bought to work was very conducive to the group. On multiple occasions she also showed diligence in completing tasks, such as the construction and facilitation of workshops. Lastly, Chrislene will be a great asset to any company or organization she works for because she is adept to relating to people. I support any future aspirations Ms. DeJean takes.

Chrislene is an amazing advocate for social and reproductive justice and has the skills, drive, and passion necessary to succeed in any position she is considered for. Having worked with her on a variety of project teams, I have watched her leadership skills grow as she has led and organized exceptional creative outreach projects that are both fun and have a wide impact on the community. As a teacher, Chrislene is down-to-earth, real, and always utilizes the most recent data and information to provide comprehensive sex-positive sexual health and wellness courses. Gifted in theory-driven curriculum design, she promotes the experiential learning process and constantly seeks feedback from her students to better her courses. Not only would I highly recommend Chrislene for any future positions she might apply for, but I would never hesitate to hire her myself in the future. A team player, full of energy and creative ideas, she's an asset to any organization.

The program offered sexual health classes to teen afterschool programs in the Boston area. I managed a staff of 6 phenomenal peer health educators. My role was to outreach and build relationships with youth programs, schedule workshops, and make sure the program was a positive environment for the peer health educators. I counsel people between the ages of 12-24 years on reproductive health at the Teen Health center. I also provide health education to all age groups in the Cambridge, Everett, Malden, and Somerville area. Opportunities have led me to be creative, innovative, an advocate for my clients and community, take initiatives, and manage individual and group projects on a variety of reproductive health issues. In this role, I have established my self as a communicative, creative leader within my health clinic, my department, Cambridge schools, and organizations. Show less

During this summer, I worked in two different programs at ABCD health services. In the first half of the summer, I facilitated and developed workshops on a variety of wellness topics for a group of 10 women between 18 to 21 years old under the Young Women's Health Leadership Academy (YWHLA). They all came from different walks of life and I had the blessing to form positive bonds with the participants. Everyone walked away with new resumes, vision boards, and positive mentors. I then developed the YWHLA facebook page to reach out to past and present participants, forming an online community of sisters. After the 7 week academy ended, we targeted participants for the Entre Nostras program, which focuses on HIV prevention. We did community mappings and observations for the 4 Boston area communities to develop a strategic plan. Show less
