Moline is an OEM that makes industrial bakery equipment. I design and program automation systems using the Rockwell Allen Bradley equipment platform. Responsibilities include designing hardware, releasing bill of materials to purchasing, programming PLCs, designing operator interfaces, as well as starting up machines in the field. We supply a 24/7 support line for customers.I also coordinate with a 3rd party IT service for Moline's employees as well provide a first line of technical support when I'm available. This has included working on our phone system, designing reports in our accounting software, Syteline, support our in house machine tools when needed, and doing basic tech support services.

I worked with Controls Hardware at CG Bretting Mfg. I provided an interface between Controls Engineers and the Controls Designers. My daily work included supporting our Electrical CAD system and laying out concept plans for Electrical Controls on our machines. I played a key part in Bretting's migration to Promis*E, and provided technical support and SQL administration for our electrical group. I wrote SQL queries to obtain information from our intelligent ECAD software to save time during the machine release process. As an engineer I primarily worked on machines that standardize on the Allen Bradley control system. I planned everything from SERCOS and Ethernet networks to power distribution. I also designed hydraulic and pneumatic schematics for fluid and air power control systems.
