Clinical rotation IV - fast-paced outpatient orthopedic clinic at a St. Louis location. Rotation was cut short due to COVID-19. During the two weeks, responsibilities included conducting efficient examinations and re-assessments to evaluate progress; utilizing modalities and unique interventions in order to progress those affected by acute or chronic musculoskeletal conditions in addition to post-operative patients, and multi-tasking patient treatments. Included occasional concussion rehabilitation.

Clinical rotation III - In-patient rehabilitation hospital - Van Matre - with neurological specialty. Patient population ranged from mild to maximal complexity and included those affected by CVA, SCI, TBI, Parkinson's, hospital-based weakness, cardio-pulmonary conditions, and more. It was the responsibility of the therapist to return the patient back to baseline function and as much as independence as possible through education and functional interventions such as transfer practice, gait training, stair negotiation, assistive device training, bed mobility, and more. Other responsibilities included family training, schedule adjustment, and collaborating at team conferences to update patient plan of care. Additional in-service done on how neuropathic pain presents and options on treatment.

Clinical rotation II - Fast-paced outpatient orthopedic clinic that primarily specialized in worker's compensation. Patients presented with acute musculoskeletal injuries and were treated with rehabilitation that was salient to the patient's occupation. Responsibilities included scheduling patients, multi-tasking efficient treatment, and consistently communicating with physicians/nurses regarding progress, re-assessments, plan of care, etc. In addition to performing an off-site in-service dedicated to job site safety, job performance evaluations were carried out as well.

Primary patient population consisted of chronic musculoskeletal/neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, vestibular conditions, and pre-/post-operative rehabilitation. Unique interventions largely included consistent patient education due to many patients affected by neuropathic-type pain; canalith repositioning maneuvers and VOR-correction exercises for vestibular patients; manual therapy, strengthening, stretching, endurance training for those with musculoskeletal conditions. In-service done on chronic back pain and how rehabilitation/education can be effective towards treating it.
