Financial Aid Coordinator
-
Jan 2006 - Mar 2011
-My favorite accomplishment as Client Services Coordinator for the Financial Aid Department with Columbia College was being the primary liaison to outside parties who were interested in learning how to pay for a higher education. My mission was communication through outreach and education, which I accomplished utilizing an array of tools including web-based applications, mailings, and the development and implementation of presentations, workshops and training sessions. Much of my work was dependent upon creating training material as well as developing and fostering partnerships within the community to motivate and instruct. I coordinated many of these events on my own and in conjunction with other team or workgroup members. -Primary liaison between Financial Aid Office and Thirty-four Nationwide campus. -Extensive communication with students and staff by answering questions and addressing concerns to advance students through the College funding process.-Developed and implemented training schedules for work-study students.-Trained in loan processing, verification, and compliance of Title IV regulations.

Area Team Leader/Trainer
-
Apr 1995 - Dec 2005
-I managed the following tasks for the central Missouri region: scheduling, account creation, and training others for product assembly and merchandising for mass retailers. -My most fulfilling contribution was working with corporate personnel (Marketing, HR, and Legal) to write a training manual and perform in a training video for assembly of gas barbeques, which was distributed to the entire company of over three thousand employees. Our mission was to increase productivity of technicians and reduce possible injury both chronic and acute. We streamlined the assembly procedure by reducing turns, stoops and bends as well as discovering helpful tricks. This goal was particularly challenging since Huffy compensated field assemblers using piece rate, thus when an items could be built quicker the employee was increasing their hourly pay usually at the expense of safety. Average assembly time decreased 20%, and significantly reduced injury and subsequent workman's compensation claims.
