The South Jersey Port Corporation (SJPC) provides world-class facilities and beneficial services which support and accommodate the transportation of goods and commodities, both by water and by land. It is the mission of the SJPC to foster regional economic development through revenue generation in a financially and environmentally sustainable manner to support facility, staffing, and infrastructure investment for the benefit of our Port District, including the cities of Camden, Paulsboro, and Salem, New Jersey. The South Jersey Port Corporation was created in 1968 to operate marine shipping terminals in the South Jersey Port District which consists of seven counties: Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Mercer and Cape May. The SJPC is a state agency which reports through the Department of Treasury to the Governor of New Jersey. The purpose of this state-created transportation corporation is to stimulate employment and business growth in the South Jersey region. The SJPC owns and operates the Joseph A. Balzano and Broadway Marine Terminals in the Port of Camden, the Salem Marine Terminal at the Port of Salem, and the Paulsboro Marine Terminal at the Port of Paulsboro. Show less

Established in 1899, the Camden County Historical Society is a private, 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the collection, preservation, study, and interpretation of artifacts, books, manuscripts, maps, images, textiles, and buildings, which illustrate the rich culture and heritage of human life in Camden County from 1600 to the present. CCHS is the historical society for both the city and the county. The society operates the historic house museum Pomona Hall, the Richard Heinlein Research Library, and the Camden County Museum, at their location in the Parkside neighborhood of Camden. The Society also provides educational and other programming both in the classroom and at their cultural and heritage center. CCHS stewards the largest collection and building facility of any local historical organization south of Trenton, and serves as the primary educational institution for history in a service area which extends to some 512,000 people in Camden County’s 37 municipal communities. The Philadelphia Parking Authority is a public agency overseeing on street and off street parking in Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Perks was the president of Perks Reutter Associates, a Philadelphia based company providing land surveying, civil engineering, and building project management services. During that time, the firm was responsible for several significant building projects in Philadelphia including the Kimmel Performing Arts Center ($165 million), the Philadelphia Zoo’s PECO Primate Reserve ($30 million), renovations to the Academy of Music ($30 million), and renovations to the Rosenbach Museum ($6 million). Mr. Perks personally served as the project manager for the renovation of the Fairmount Water Works in Philadelphia ($6 million), renovations of 52 branch libraries for the Free Library of Philadelphia ($30 million), and the construction of Campbell’s Field baseball stadium in Camden, New Jersey ($22 million). He was also the consulting project manager for the comprehensive renovation of two camps for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania ($10 million), and the principal in charge for the construction management of the Vineland, NJ, K-12 New Community School ($52 Million). Mr. Perks served as principal for the inventory, condition assessment, and cost estimating for 257 school buildings for the School District of Philadelphia, and 165 school buildings for the Baltimore County School District. The project in Philadelphia identified over a billion dollars worth of needed renovations and formed the basis of the District’s capital program. For 20 years he served as the consulting engineer to two county utilities authorities. From 1985 through 1991, he was the consulting engineer to the Atlantic City Expressway Authority, authoring and implementing their $20 million capital program for all design and construction along the 44 mile long toll road and its seven building facility complexes. His firm designed interchange 41 on the Atlantic City Expressway. He also performed management audits of AMTRAK’s real estate department, and the Atlantic City Building Code office. Show less
