As a writer, expressing your truth, standing up for what you believe in, sometimes puts you directly in the face of fear, criticism and uncertainty. You need powerful allies - and Chris has been an amazing one. With his sharp wit, radical candour, patience and generosity of spirit, he stretched my thinking, he helped me make the words come alive! He found a highly influential and prestigious publisher for my first book - Dancing At The Edge Of Greatness. A wonderful home for the book. It wouldn’t have been possible without his mastery of the dark arts of publishing. So if you have dreams of creating something provocative, reach out to Chris, and brace yourself for a thrilling ride!
Neil Humphreys
Chris is one of the kindest, dedicated and most committed people I've ever worked with in the publishing industry. We sold many, many books together in Singapore and across the world. After I'd written several best-selling, non-fiction books, it was Chris who convinced me to take the plunge into the icy waters of fiction. The best-selling Match Fixer was the result and kick-started a second career for me. He also championed my next novel - Premier Leech - a passion project of mine and it became an award-winning novel in the UK. We've now worked together on many literary projects - from fiction and non-fiction to children's illustrated books and interactive ebooks. Indeed, my children's book - Abbie Rose and the Magic Suitcase: I Rescued a Goat to Save Chinese New Year - was a collaboration between myself, Chris and the illustrator. We conceptualised and worked on the project together, all the way through to publication. The book was downloaded more than 300,000 times and, thanks to Chris' efforts, introduced my work to a global audience for the first time. Basically, he's the kind of publisher every author wants: considerate, generous, patient and loyal (even when my ideas are rubbish.) Frankly, whatever literary career I have in a tough industry is due in large part to Chris' encouragement and his on-going support for my work. In the ruthless world of publishing, he really is one of the good guys. Neil Humphreys, author www.neilhumphreys.net
