      I created the Whats2Hot.com brand as a collegiate student. My goal was to create an online platform that listed what I/we felt was worth checking out. I developed the initial platform and curated event calendars, lists, and blogs. As we grew, I found myself handling additional components of the business: advertising/sales, sponsorship, and the pursuit of ‘out of the box’ cross-promotional opportunities. Early on (pre-Facebook/myspace), we discovered that events were a fantastic way to… Show more I created the Whats2Hot.com brand as a collegiate student. As we grew, I found myself handling additional components of the business: advertising/sales, sponsorship, and the pursuit of ‘out of the box’ cross-promotional opportunities. Early on (pre-Facebook/myspace), we discovered that events were a fantastic way to drive brand awareness, and, when done correctly, they were a great, new revenue generator. We began hosting events at local bars and nightclubs. In addition, we were one of the first companies to integrate event photos with an online database, thus adding value to our advertisers by allowing direct contact with their demographic. While Whats2Hot.com has now evolved into a fully operational blog with writers, photographers, editors, and account managers, it has stayed true to its ideals of being a positive guide of fun and exciting information.
