Distribution Clerk

Working as part of a team we buy, store and distribution over 400 ambient lines to Waitrose stores nationwide. I use a forecast provided by Waitrose to buy these lines on a daily basis but other factors such as storage capacity, shelf life, MOQ and promotions can make this a challenging role that I enjoy. Working closely with 18 different suppliers is important to the role as a good working relationship can benefit both sides in times of need. Much of the communication is done by email and phone but importantly regular meetings are scheduled to share our common goals and get another perspective on them. I take sole responsibility for maintaining the product lines, be it new, deleted or mid-life changes that need actioning and carefully scheduled. I also run regular KPIs and reports to monitor our performance and that of our suppliers to improve or ongoing performance. To reduce the time impact many of the tasks we perform I have taken it upon myself to streamline line task and generally improve efficiency by automating some aspects. Show less

Goods In Assistant
-
Sep 2015 - Mar 2016
As Goods In Assistant with Cooper Crouse-Hinds it was our goal to work as efficiently and accurately as possible. There were multiple administrative duties to be carried out, which were always ongoing as the flow of work keeps moving. These duties would include booking on goods to our stock control system SAP and consultation with purchasing if they were any inaccuracies. We would continually liaise with other departments to provide them with the correct parts on-time and process stock requests. There were also a number of other responsibilities to do with producing reports to ensure our systems were well maintained and consistently accurate. Show less

Dispatch Manager
-
Mar 2013 - Jul 2015
In my role as Dispatch Manager I was the first point of contact for all sales related queries. Communication is managed across many different ecommerce platforms such as eBay and Amazon where a quick and accurate response is essential whilst remaining friendly and polite. Emails also come in regularly in regard to our website, where I will be creating quotes, answering product related question and processing warranty claims. I find that maintaining contact with a customer is extremely important because when we do they feel valued and well informed. Show less

In this role I worked in a small team of 2-3 people in the busy holiday season. I was entrusted with a fair amount of responsibility in my short time there and learnt sales, customer service, stock checking, re-stocking and general maintenance while also running the click and collect service for on-line orders. I would often be working independently under a great deal of pressure but kept a level head at all times. In this role I worked in a small team of 2-3 people in the busy holiday season. I worked on various designs for events and communication with parents and pupils and successfully organised charity events which were well received by the parents and KCC visitors. Throughout my time at the Challenger Centre I believe I had a positive impact on the working environment because I strived to improve the presentation and communication of the school.
