It started with my computer not starting properly and I heard of Chris from my housemate at the time. Since my computer was still new, Chris recommended I bring it back so the Manufacturer could fix everything under warranty. He then proceeded to help me back all my data up so in case something did happen, I would still have all my files. I also wanted to switch out my Hard Drive to SSD which Chris did for me. It ended with me being friends with him for over 5 years exploring Canada, riding on bikes, hitting the mountain slopes, and eating lots of food. If you want your computer fixed, and want a good friend out of it, go to Chris. I continue to use the laptop Chris fixed 6 years ago. It has been the longest I've ever held on to a computer and it is still super fast - I am convinced that Chris has magical computer powers.

Started and still currently running a sole-proprietorship (value-added re-seller) computer sales and service company. The company pre-dated PC sales in the big box stores such as Staples and BestBuys and hence was very lucrative initially. Once sales of PC entered the retail market, the company changed into a mainly service and repair structure with only specialized custom equipment sales and procurement. Currently, Computer Guy Solutions provides back-end IT support for a handful of clients in Canada and overseas. Computer Guy operates strictly outside the daily duties of my current employers with very limited hours and availability. Check out: www.computerguy.solutions

During my very short tenure I was able to audit, asses and deploy several needed infrastructure and policy requirements. Working with my team I was able to complete these highlights on top of the day to day operations of the department: - Consolidated and purged the enterprise of almost $250,000 of obsolete hardware - Built a new Mac & PC lab for the students - Automated server room monitoring systems for disaster prevention - Reduced 30 Virtual machines down to 5 and decommissioned 3 EOL Hyper-V servers - Brought the school into license compliance with all users, CAL’s and operating systems - Virtualized and migrated the live financial database to new enterprise grade hardware - Decommissioned 170 obsolete data sets on backup tapes and moved to a full Hyper-V backup solution - Project managed the cloud migration from Exchange 2010 to Office365 for 300+ users - Launched new ticketing, property management, inventory and asset management systems - Create roadmap and master IT plan for the school to move forward after my departure - Stayed in contact with the new IT Director to collaborate on my strategic IT plan - Mentoring new IT Director on his career development and to help acclimate to the new role

Served as the sole IT manager/director for the Backpacker's Suites and James Bays Suites locations. Working stickily on a part-time casual basis during the Covid shutdown, I advised the hotel on all IT operations and was the only hands-on technical staff member. During my tenure I accomplishment a deployment of a completely new WiFi and network infrastructure upgrade. The new system streamlined security and boosted the customer satisfaction to never before seen levels at the business. The fully cloud managed system is now a key selling feature of the business.

Transitioned from a shared services model under the Accor umbrella to the Director of Information Technology for the single hotel. Assume many new responsibilities such as: - Monthly budget review and management including all departmental forecasting and accruals - Submit, review and manage both CapEx and OpEx budget guidelines - departmental goal planning and implementation - Colleague training and orientation In addition to the above, retained the responsibilities and operational requirements already established from the shared services of Accor corporation. Continue to actively assist all properties in the BC area as an active emergency response team member.

In 2009 duties for the Look Company included Operations Manager of the Innisfil Ontario plant. I was initially brought on as a Project Manager to facilitate the construction and to retrofit of the new Innisfil facility. The project was completed ahead of schedule and was then I was responsible for moving the entire company to said plant and immediately beginning full-scale print production for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. The role eventually ended, and responsibility reverted solely to IT Manager once I left the province. I managed and coordinated IT operations between the Canada, USA and Qatar offices. Primary focus on infrastructure, domain, security and backup. Mostly facilitated via remotely with occasional travel back to Ontario for onsite duties.

On-site service technician operating as a business owner/contractor. Servicing both home and business clients on a part-time basis while employed for MC Laser Werks, The Look Company and Northern Protocol. Primarily an on-call position for break/fix service calls in the Barrie and surrounding area. Due to relocation to Alberta and it’s remote location, I was not able to successfully continue working under the Nerds On Site umbrella and had to give up the association with this organization. Initially oversaw the entire IT structure of manufacturing facility. After a few years began quoting and project management for large scale public art projects for the city of Toronto and others. Projects included gateway signage for the city of Barrie and Simcoe. Project management eventually merged into a joint collaboration with The Look Company where print operations for the Vancouver 2010 Olympics were moved to Innisfil Ontario and were managed under my employment there as Operation/Production Manager. With the bankruptcy on MC Laser Werks in 2011, I resumed my full time project manager role at The Look Company.
