  Aotea Pathology is a large medical laboratory (230+ staff) providing testing for the greater Wellington region.My role at Aotea was developing and maintaining the complex Laboratory Information System and development of other internal support applications (including issue tracking, staff competency, and internal software testing systems). DBA duties included; Database Design, Implementation, Maintenance, Back Ups and Performance Tuning, as well as helping to virtualise the SQL environments.Primary technologies include; Delphi XE, C#, ADO.net, web services, Microsoft SQL 2005, T-SQL, Reporting Services (SSRS), Integration services (SSIS), ASP.net, Vault source control, Terminal Services, VMware workstation and evaluation of Azure SQL and websites.Other duties included; Working with internal and external clients, technical specifications, user documentation, writing test cases and supporting junior Developers. Implementation of Agile and Kanban methodologies and help setting up SharePoint for the company Intranet were other responsibilities undertaken.
