Night shift Security Corporal/Assistant Supervisor. This position, being in a hospital system, required a large amount of customer service skill and ability to deal with difficult people in a calm and clear manner. In addition to regular security duties, I was often the supervisor on duty for the shift. -Trained and evaluated all new hires for my shift, ensuring a continued success for the department -Evaluated the scheduling procedure and made it more efficient and flexible -Increased departmental morale by creating and running an employee of the month program -Nurtured a stronger relationship between the security team and other departments in the hospital, such as Emergency and Maintenance, through running interdepartmental group discussions. This created a better working environment -Increased brand recognition of the Hospital system through participation in non-work related activities, representing the company. -Created a safer work environment through running safety drills and assisting maintenance in repairs. -In a supervisory position, I quickly defused work related confrontation between officers and took some of that work off of the Lieutenant's plate I had also taken on the duties of Security System Specialist for the security department. This included setting up, training and maintenance of the various equipment and software used in the department. -Increased efficiency of report taking and dispatching through implementation and training, of new dispatching system -Through supervising the after hours visitor check in station, I created a safer environment for patients and guests. This lowered the number of our floor disturbance calls and boosted our performance numbers for other call types -I streamlined the officer recertification process by providing services for the officers, like passport sized photos for CLEET cards, and working with our department secretary on the timely completion of paperwork Show less
