    • Lead Pastor
      • Jun 2010 - Jun 2014

During our Church Planting season, we launched Riverpoint Church in Austin, Texas. As founding pastor, I was responsible for all aspects of the ministry including financial, organizational, leadership and teaching. I oversaw several staff and volunteers and I organized multiple community serving opportunities for our people, challenging them to make a tangible impact in their communities. We relocated Riverpoint further north and relaunched as The Creek Community Church. Within this new community, I was responsible for all aspects of the church ministry from the procuring of a rented facility to ensuring age-graded classes are skillfully taught. I was directly responsible for all financial decisions of our organization. I also organized an ongoing weekly teaching schedule and facilitated a discussion-driven atmosphere in our weekly gathering. In June of 2013, The Creek Community Church merged with North Hills Community Church to form Ethos Church. I served as the Teaching Pastor and oversaw several small groups as well as other ministries within the church. As Teaching Pastor, I was responsible for developing and carrying out half of the messages throughout the year. Show less

    • College and Young Singles Pastor
      • Dec 2003 - Nov 2006

I developed College and Young Singles Program and budget from scratch in a suburb of Houston. (No previous college and young singles ministry apart from two fledgling Sunday School classes. Also, no colleges in the immediate area.) I oversaw existing Sunday School program as well as initiating and developing weekly Life Groups for both the college and young singles ministry to facilitate spiritual development among students and young singles, recruiting, training and developing small group leaders to facilitate small groups. I recruited, trained and developed students to act as the College Ministry Team giving input and oversight to the ministries within the College Ministry as well as a separate singles team to act as Young Singles Ministry Team. I created new ministries including TouchPoint (a twenty-something worship and Bible study on Monday nights averaging between 20 and 30 weekly during the school year and 40 and 50 weekly during the summer), Life Groups (small groups gathering in people’s homes averaging 35 to 45 weekly), and D:Groups (discipleship groups that meet from 6-8 weeks on Sunday evenings and cover various material from basics of the faith to leadership development). I developed and selected the Life Group materials for both individual groups doing their own pre- approved materials as well as seasonal periods when all the Life Groups study the same material. • Jul 1997 - Dec 2003

I increased college attendance in worship service from 50 to 200 students in 6 years. (Average overall church attendance was 600) I created new ministries including College Connection (a weekly connecting time for college students on Sunday morning averaging 60 and 80 weekly – I led a discussion and teaching time each week), Freshmen Ministries (a freshmen only small group led by upperclassmen meeting in a dorm on campus) and A.T. (Advanced Training – seminary level classes for college students interested in attending seminary which I led). I recruited, trained, mentored and developed 15-25 students annually (depending upon the year) to act as the College Ministry Team giving input, leadership and oversight to the various ministries within the College program including retreats, socials, mission projects, Life Groups, student leadership recruitment and student mentoring. I recruited, trained and developed 8-12 adult and college small group leaders each year to facilitate small groups meeting in dorms, apartments and homes. I organized and directed special events and mission projects to include sending several students into full-time mission work and vocational ministry upon graduation. I helped create a multi-ministry worship gathering on the Louisiana Tech campus called Common Ground which brought together 6 separate ministries and included between 600 and 800 college students each week. I taught monthly. I acted as president of Uniting Campus Ministries (consisting of pastors and representatives of 12 various denominational ministries) on the Louisiana Tech Campus for two years.
