As the Director of Campus Safety at The Loomis Chaffee School, I work collaboratively with colleagues, staff and students to maintain a campus safety department that serves as a resource to the school community. I am a member of various committees including the Safety Committee, Student Life Committee, and the Emergency Response Team and I have networked with peer schools and local agencies. I am a co-founder and Board Member of RISSC, a campus safety committee comprised of peer school Campus Safety Directors. These partnerships have created opportunities to share information and determine best practices as they relate to campus safety in a boarding school environment. I work closely with our Human Resources Director to recruit, hire and retain quality officers. Through improved communication and interaction with the community these officers are making strong contributions to the overall safety of the campus. As a department head I also work with the Business Office to create an annual budget and ensure that purchases and expenses are properly managed.
