I worked with Chris on several different projects during our time at Garden International School. Chris is a fantastic professional and a culture setter. He is an intuitive thinker, has great people skills and is values-led. All of that and I haven’t even mentioned his music leadership! Needless to say, his passion for music and the arts comes through in every interaction. I would be very happy to recommend Chris as a consultant on a range of education projects.

I have had the privilege to work with Chris Koelma at Garden International school in Kuala Lumpur for several years. During this time, Chris led the Primary music team and the impact he had on this department was significant. Chris improved the curriculum and practise in the primary school and developed the individual music programme to an astounding level. Under his leadership, the primary orchestra produced musicians who moved on the be confident musicians in Secondary and beyond. The stage musicals that Chris directed during his time at GIS were outstanding. Not only were they perfectly casted and brilliantly produced, because of these musicals hundreds of students had the chance to perform, build their confidence and learn the art of acting, singing and dancing. Chris had a way to make every single rehearsal fun and no student or member of staff ever felt stressed or pressured leading up to performances as Chris' calm temperament and love for what he does, naturally bring out the best in everyone he works with. I recommend Chris wholeheartedly for any endeavour anyone needs support with. His professionalism and drive always deliver!

I was Head of the Primary school when Chris worked at St. George 's College in Quilmes, Argentina. I was very sorry to see him leave, pursuing professional growth and developing an open mind as a citizen of the world. In fact, I hoped he would stay and become my successor. Aside from being an outstanding musician, he has a special gift for dealing with people in a kind and thoughtful way, while getting the very best out of each individual. I frequently witnessed him giving evidence of his many talents when dealing with people, class groups of all ages, whole school groups and adults, while teaching, running play rehearsals, choirs and delivering inspiring messages. It was a pleasure working with him in the development of Arts at St. George’s and it would be wonderful if he ever decided to come back and be such a positive influence on our young learners.
