      Defence Security & Technology Laboratory (DSTL) is the research and development organisation within the UK Ministry of Defence. I was engaged as a Project Manager to undertake a number of high-technology led projects including: ■ Air Platform Protection (APP) Effectiveness & Sustainment Project I managed the project to maintain the capability to perform APP trials, undertake international collaboration and provide advice to Front Line Commands through a £4m p.a. support contract. I established a robust governance process to monitor progress against plan and implemented a commercial strategy to support and ultimately replace the critical Missile Seeker Test Facility (MSTF). I succeeded in delivering the plan to cost and securing the MSTF succession plan. ■ NATO Suppression of Enemy Air Defence (SEAD) Project I led the the establishment of a NATO SEAD capability through an €800k project. I worked to gain buy-in for the concept, constructed a NATO bid and delivered the resulting Programme of Work. I influenced Stakeholders by leading the production of a Strategy document, submitted a Project Proposal and on award developed and implemented the project plan to deliver the initial phases co-ordinating 5 NATO partners. I succeeded in starting the initiative to improve NATO’s APP capability and thus freedom of action in future conflicts. Show less

I was engaged as a Project Manager to undertake a number of high-technology led projects including: ■ Air RF Countermeasures Research I led a 3 year, £9m project developing countermeasure technology and techniques to protect air platforms against radar guided missile threat, to time, cost and quality. I reported to Group Leader, RF Protection Group, Sensors & Countermeasures Department and was responsible for 20+ internal personnel and 10+ external suppliers. ■ Maritime RF Countermeasures Research I was engaged to act as the point of responsibility and accountability for the successful delivery of a £28m research project studying radar guided missile threat and evaluating countermeasure technology to protect naval platforms. I managed and mitigated risks using best practice tools to establish, maintain and control project documentation necessary for the management of the project and I provided and facilitated expert advice, analysis and assurance to aid decision-making and to support MOD and wider government to be an intelligent customer. ■ Expendable Active Decoy TDP I was responsible for project managing a 3 year, £12m project, partnering with SELEX to build and evaluate the next generation of RF countermeasures. I managed the performance of the SELEX contract in line with the DSTL technical assurance framework and embedded robust project governance and ensured adherence to strict project milestones. ■ Project Chimera I was engaged to project manage a 5 year, £5m Defence Intelligence project to create high fidelity hardware (FGPA) accelerated models providing usable threat representations. I re-scoped the project plan, reinvigorated the project team and improved the customer relationship. Show less
