      Chris J. Hughes is the Chief Investigator with the District Attorney's Office; 7th Judicial Circuit of Alabama. He has been with the District Attorney's Office since March 2006 and has over 25 years of law enforcement experience. His duties include: • Collaborating with the District Attorney and Chief Assistant District Attorney with the preparation of Capital Murder cases as well as other Felony Murder cases for trial. • Collaborating with Assistant District Attorney’s on all manner of cases for the preparation for pre-trial hearings, trials and other court proceedings by locating witnesses, serving warrants and subpoenas, obtaining additional evidence, obtaining statements, reports, records, documents and other materials and ensuring that evidence and documentation are legally admissible in court. • Conducting complex and often sensitive or high-profile criminal investigations, preparing typed reports on his findings in those cases and preparing and presenting those cases at Grand Jury, trial and other court proceedings. • Acts as liaison to representatives of federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies as well as other governmental and non-governmental agencies to assist with or seek assistance with criminal cases as well as maintaining professional working relationships. • Performs a wide variety of other duties as assigned by the District Attorney.
