'Waiting Space’ is an audio & visual project - and alias of musician and artist, Chris Falconer. Pieces from the project have been commissioned by the Luan Gallery in Athlone, Ireland (to create a number of musical scores for ‘virtual walkthrough’ videos of the gallery’s exhibitions a number of times during 2020 and 2021 - allowing audiences to ‘visit’ the gallery from a distance, despite COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions), and Garter Lane Arts Centre, Waterford, Ireland (to create an audio/visual piece as part of their 'Courtyard Calibrations' programme). The Waiting Space piece 'Cocoon' was exhibited at Lismore Castle Arts, in Lismore, Waterford, Ireland in 2020 - and was 'Officially Selected' for the 16th Waterford Film Festival, to be held in November 2022, and will be screened in the Odeon Cinema Waterford on 27th November 2022.

Select Research:• 'Dancing With Doubt: The Scarce & Troubled Reception of Eileen Gray', 2013-Paper, and Academic Talk: focusing on the extraordinary incidents surrounding E.1027, this paper discusses how Gray’s historical memory has profited from doubt, through the revisionary tactics of more recent critics and historians, including Constant, Adam, Colomina, and Rault. Finally it asks: has the relative dearth of scholarly material available on Gray been hindered by the lingering bruise of Le Corbusier – both physically & figuratively – on the historical portrait of Gray? I present these ideas in the hope of encouraging new directions of studying Gray’s impact, for, as she said herself: ’the future projects light, the past only shadows’.• 'Carthage Hall: Collective Memories', 2012- A detail on the 125 year history of St. Carthage Hall, Lismore, Waterford - tracing the space's curious movement from its origins as Methodist Church, through intermediate years as a Catholic Hall, only to arrive at its contemporary use as an Art Gallery. However eclectic the set of users may have been, what has always defined the space is its use for collective gatherings, and as a meeting place. • 'The Sculpture Garden at Lismore Castle Arts', 2012-A brief discussion on the garden collection at Lismore Castle Arts, which provides the rare opportunity to view some of the finest contemporary sculpture in Ireland today, poetically framed by a historical location. Far from the urban landscape, these works take on a new life: their surfaces are not polluted by the artificial lights of city centres, nor are they limited to a quick, passing glance at the side of a motorway. Carefully positioned, and staggered sensibly, the works of sculptors such as Antony Gormley, Eilís O’Connell, Franz West, and Roman Signer can be viewed in a scenario characterised by its subtle negotiation between the ancient & modern.• 'Review - Corban Walker: Please Adjust, St. Carthage Hall, June-August 2012' 2012

'Etto Records' is an artist-owned record label. In particular, my roles included manager, vocalist, performer, and graphic designer for two Irish acts. During this time I proficiently balanced academic life, and later full-time employment, with this personal passion - including independently producing three e.p.s, 10+ singles, facilitating performances at festivals (including Indiependence, Cork Midsummer Festival, and Sproai), and production of a number of music videos, for artists including 'Waiting Space' and 'Ghetto Amaretto'. While currently on hiatus, Etto Records aims to continue to offer management, production, videography, and graphic design to young, independent Irish bands.
